Air Destratification

In areas of a facility, where make-up air is not required for negative pressure, or roof exhaust fans are not in operation, an air recirculation unit can be installed to homogenize the air within that area. The result will greatly improve the efficiency of the existing heating system and minimize energy losses through the roof.

The units allow the air to recirculate in all aisles regardless if there are pallet racks full of materials because the units work off the air pressure difference creating a downdraft air flow rather than trying to simply blow air from one point to another. ALL the air in the facility MUST return to the unit on the floor. The benefits are energy savings, occupant comfort, no drafts or kicking up of dusts on the floor, and a cleaner environment.

Air De-Stratification Benefits

  • Improves the efficiency of the heating system
  • Minimizes heating costs and provides a uniform temperature in the facility.
  • Homogenizes the air within the area in which they are located.
  • Lowers the roof temperature
  • Minimizes the amount of heat lost out the roof
  • Establish a downdraft air flow pattern within the general area and force ALL the heat discharged from the heating systems to the floor level where it is drawn in and redistributed evenly throughout.

System Contents

An air recirculation unit consists of an intake plenum containing a filtered inlet opening in the base, fan module and flame retardant fabric air distribution ducting. The units are custom designed to meet the facilities requirements.

Operation

The unit draws in floor temperature air, filters it and distributes it the length of the facility. The cooler air will be dispersed at the ceiling level through holes punched at 11-1 & 10-2 o'clock positions. The ceiling level will be pressurized with the cooler floor temperature air and the ceiling temperatures will be lowered, resulting in less heat lost through the roof.
