Clarifiers - Plate Clarifiers

Parallel plate technology is the key to enhanced solids removal in the liquid/solid gravity separation systems. These wastewater clarifiers are manufactured in various materials of construction, depending upon the requirements of a specific application.

Parallel plate clarifiers have been used for precipitation for many years. This design allows for a higher rate of flow in a smaller footprint. In addition, the parallel plate clarifier design is simple to operate and has a considerably less expensive maintenance cost because there are few, if any, moving parts.

The parallel plate clarifier will provide for separation of free settling, non-hindered solids in wastewater.

Wastewater will enter the influent distribution chamber where the influent diffuser header and the flow distribution orifices will provide for the appropriate flow dissipation and distribution before entering the adjacent parallel plate packs and the solids collection chamber below. The inclined parallel plate packs will provide for removal of free settling, non-hindered concentrations of solids from the influent wastewater. The plate packs will increase the effective settling area while reducing the distance solid  must travel before reaching the collection surface.

The collection surface of the inclined parallel plate packs allows the solids to easily slide downward to the hopper bottom solids collection chamber below. The collected solids will require removal by maintenance personnel. The clarified effluent will overflow an adjustable weir into an effluent chamber. The clarified effluent will then exit via gravity to discharge.
