SDM was started in 1977 as a one-man company that marketed one type of filter cartridge. As time went by the organization expanded and subsequently diversified into marketing and manufacturing a vast range of filtration products and accessories.
Today SDM manufacturers a full range of cartridges suitable for various filtration purposes. It has custom-made products to suit the customers’ needs. It has filters suitable for water, oil, chemicals, alcohol and other industrial liquids. SDM also manufacturers’ special filters for removing odors.
SDM manufacturer’s cartridges of various materials like polypropylene, ceramic, cellulose, glass fiber, SS wiremesh and activated carbon. The range also includes bag filters made of woven and non-woven filter cloth.
As early as 1979 – 80, SDM tendered and won a contract from Reserve Bank of India for a terrace mounted drinking water purification plant for their new building at Mint road. This tender was secured under stiff competition from companies like ION Exchange and Thermax. SDM were the pioneers who installed the drinking water plant using Ultraviolet Ray Technology in those days. The plant is in operation to date.
SDM has also carried out major research and developments in the field of household filtration systems and has made a concentrated effort to provide the consumer with an easy, hassle-free and time saving filtration method. The result of this effort is the SDM “AQUACOP” Ultraviolet water purifier, which is totally user serviceable and has an imported U.V. tube fired using the latest high frequency electronic technology.
SDM has also branched out in making specialized ultraviolet filtration systems for industries, townships, buildings and schools, so that pure drinking water is available from the tap outlet. These units incorporate high efficiency American quartz glass lamps.
In addition to ultraviolet systems, SDM has a division that concentrates on making sturdy high capacity conventional filter housings for industrial purposes. These housings are of various materials like polypropylene, mild steel or stainless steel. They vary from single cartridge housings giving a flow rate of 300 litres per hour to 1,000 litres per hour (Depending on the cartridge and micron rating).
SDM has developed special Compact backwashable filters for Defence Laboratory - Jodhpur, Government of India, with whom they have been working closely from 1986. These filters are used in the “drinking water for villages project” in Rajasthan.
SDM has always been abreast with the latest technologies in the filtration field, an example of this is our range of ozone generators and reverse osmosis systems.
Finally, SDM also has a consultancy department that gives comprehensive service and assistance for setting up mineral water plants.
