Tyrexpo Africa 2011

Tyrexpo Asia 2011 is set to break all previous records when it opens its doors to delegates in Singapore at the end of March.

The exhibition will be the largest in terms of exhibitor numbers in the 15-year history of the event, providing hard evidence of the vitality of the tyre and automotive equipment sector in the region.

“In 2009 the market was cautious and uncertain as a result of the global financial crisis. But two years later we are looking at the greatest number of companies that have ever been involved in the event,” confirms Rowena Suthers, sales director for event organiser ECI International.

“The change in mood and confidence is very noticeable and we are optimistic that will also increase further the number of local and international visitors who come to do business at the show,” she added.

The eighth staging of Tyrexpo Asia in Singapore will be officially opened by Dr Stephen Evans, Secretary General of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG). The Singapore-based IRSG is the internationally-recognised and authoritative source of statistical data and analysis for all aspects of the rubber industry.

Mr Evans will follow in the footsteps of his predecessor at the IRSG, Dr Hidde Schmidt, who performed a similar role at the opening of Tyrexpo Asia in 2009.

Once again, the exhibition has successfully attracted an international gathering of manufacturers, suppliers and distributors representing all facets of the tyre and equipment sector.

Host country Singapore is strongly represented by companies including Stamford Tyres, Omni, Mindtrac, Newera Equipment, YHI and Belshina Asia, the regional arm of the Russian tyre manufacturer.

China’s continued drive for export sales, particularly in the OTR and heavy industrial tyre sectors, makes it the largest single exhibiting nation, with xx participating companies.

And fellow emerging economic super-power India is also prominent through leading names such as BKT, CEAT, Elgi Rubber, Malhotra Rubber, Midas Precured Treads, Speedways and Superking.

With more than 160 exhibitors from 40 countries confirmed to take part, Tyrexpo Asia 2011 will be the largest edition of the show to be staged in the Singapore Expo Centre. The expo takes place over three days from 29-31 March 2011.
