Agitators

Based upon viscosity, product’s specific gravity and product characteristics, we manufacture turbine, paddle, propeller and anchor type agitator. Agitators are designed, engineered and manufactured to individual application specifications with core understanding of product process, ensuring that agitator maintains product quality with minimum mixing time and power. We offer high quality sanitary agitators for efficient mixing from the best possible materials, such as stainless steel AISI 304 or acid-resistant steel AISI 316L, 304L, 316 and MS agitators. These are useful for liquid-liquid mixing and solid-liquid mixing. Mixing by agitators takes place due to momentum transfer. Factors to be considered during selection of efficient agitation system are type of agitator, circulation pattern, location of agitation, shape and size of tank dia and width of agitator, method of baffeling, power requirement for agitation, shaft overhang, type of stuffing box or seal, bearings, driven system.

Types of Agitator:

Paddle Agitator, Turbine Agitator, Propeller Agitator, Helical Screw Agitator, Radial Propeller. Helical or anchor style or with double motion arrangements. Double motion agitator arrangements are designed using paddle, turbine and anchor stirrer designs.

  • Paddle Agitator: Blades are normally extend to tank wall. They are simply pusher and causes mass to rotate in a laminar swirling motion. With practically no radial flow along paddle blades or any axial flow.

  • Helical Screw Agitator: Screw drives fluid from vessel bottom to top surface and liquid. It is effective for mixing high viscosity material to liquids. Advantages:This type of agitators are useful in the Petro-Chemical, Resins, Polymers, Coatings & Adhesives; Agricultural & General Chemicals and Plastics & Rubber Industries. They are used for the manufacturing of grease, lubricants, paints, inks, varnishes, adhesives. Blending, Dispersion (immiscible systems), reaction in solutions (miscible system), Dissolution, solid suspension, gas application, high viscosity application, heat transfer, crystallization or precipitation. Turbine agitator is mostly useful for highly viscous liquid and paste.

  • Turbine agitator: Blades directly attached to hub or blades attached to a centre disc, use of two agitators if height of tank is larger. Agitators have variety of shapes. They are capable of creating a vigorous mixing action, due to centrifugal and rotational motion. Back-sloped turbine offers maximum power economy. A stator ring surrounding this agitator gives an efficient mixing action. Radial bladed turbine gives higher discharge velocity, but required more power. More commonly used type is the pitched blade turbine which gives both radial and axial flow. Blades directly attached to hub or blades attached to a centre disc, use of two agitators if height of tank is larger.
