Founded by a leading visionary of his times, Late Dr. I.S. Uppal, in the year 1974, the Laboratory has gained immense recognition by becoming one of the fastest growing “Testing Centres” in Northern India; essentially because of holding an uncommon insight and being one-of-its-kind trendsetter.

The laboratory provides both field inspection and laboratory analysis of all construction material, industrial effluent, and general chemicals & products. The laboratory also excels in geotechnical investigation and environmental analysis. The Laboratory was recognized by ISI in 1980 and has kept on growing leaps and bounds ever since. It now holds the ISO 9001-2000 certification. The admirable growth of UTALAB has seen it move from a small accommodation at Sector-7, Chandigarh to a highly spacious plot at #240 Industrial Area Phase-IX, S.A.S. Nagar Mohali.
