A final decision on granting green clearances for South Korean steelmaker POSCO's steel mill in India's eastern Orissa state will be made on January 31, Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said.

 

Disclosing further, Ramesh said that the ministry is looking to reach amicable solution on Lavasa.

 

He informed that the ministry will set up a compliance facilitation centre. The centre, a 50:50 joint venture with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) will advice SMEs on environmental rules.
