Photon Energy Systems Ltd has commissioned a 3 mw solar photovoltaic plant for Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd at Itnal village in Belgaum district, which has begun to generate 4 million units into the grid. This project was set up as a demonstration plant in the tail end of the grid to enhance and strengthen the rural power supply to the areas of Kerur, Itnal and Chikodi towns of Balgaum district. The Hyderabad-based company in a statement said the project was set up in six months on a 17-acre site, with 13,045 Photon crystalline modules and other items sourced from other parts of the world. — Our Bureau
