New Delhi (ABC Live): Indian Environment Ministry headed by Mr. S Ramesh has listed 265 Consultants from all across the India for State Level Expert Appraisal Committee/State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEAC/SEIAA) for Category ‘B’ projects and Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) for Category ‘A’ projects.
It is to mention that Indian Environment Ministry had asked QCI for accreditation / registration till 30th September, 2010 and issued final number on December 31, 2010 that only 265 consultants have submitted their papers for accreditation / registration.
Further, Environment Ministry clarified that no consultant, whose name does not figure in the uploaded list as of 30th September, 2010 would be permitted to appear before SEAC/SEIAA or EAC or certify any documents.
Environment Ministry also considered that there is no requirement for accreditation to a foreign consultant if the foreign consultant concerned is assisting to or is a partner of an accredited Indian EIA Consultant. However, if a foreign consultant acts alone, he will need to get accredited with the QCI/NABET.
