Jaeger Envirotech, a German firm into manufacturing of air aeration products for waste water management, today said it will enter into the $1 billion Indian market through partners and distributors.
"We had been on the lookout for distributors in S-E Asia and after an in-depth study, it was unanimously decided that India would be best suited," Jaeger Envirotech President Andreas Jager said in a company release.
Jaeger said the company would rope in partners who have a good distribution network among manufacturing plants across sector for waste water management in all major Indian markets.
Following the appointment of distributors, the company would launch its entire product range in India sourcing directly from its manufacturing plant in Germany.
The water and waste water treatment equipment market is currently pegged at $one billion and growing steadily by over 20 per cent. The market is dominated by a large base of small and medium enterprises.
The $1 billion market is divided equally between water provisioning, municipal water treatment and industrial water treatment.
Indian water treatment market is moving from chemical treatment and demineralisation technologies to greater use of membrane technology, Jaeger said.
The company, which recorded Euro 136 million sales in 2009, manufactures around 25 lakh disc and 18 lakh tube membranes and diffusers each year for all its global customers.
