New Delhi, Jan 20 (PTI) On a day South Korea urged India to fast-track the proposed USD 12 billion Posco steel project, the company made a presentation before the Environment Ministry on the green issues involved in setting up the plant in Orissa.
The presentation was made after the the expert committees appointed by the Ministry to study the issue of green law violations raised some questions, said an official source.
South Korean Trade Minister Kim Jong-Hoon has said, "We don't have to disregard the importance of this greenfield investment, which can create a great deal of jobs in India and a great deal of values for Indian industry."
Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has already stated that a final decision on the project would be announced by the end of this month.
