Reliance industries Ltd has implemented and commissioned a 1-MW solar photovoltaic power plant at Tyagaraj stadium in New Delhi. In statement, the company said it’s solar group had installed and commissioned “the country’s first 1-MW solar plant in less three months".
The power plant is expired to generate to rate around 1.4 –mn units of electricity a year. It would cater to the power requirements of the stadium and the surplus would be fed to the grid. The solar power generated through PV power plants is expected to result in emissions reduction of more than 1200 tonne of carbon dioxide a year, the company said. RIL solar group has also implemented power plants in the Mr.R.K.Khanna Tennis Complex and solar LED street lights and garden lights in the commonwealth games village.
