The Uttar Pradesh government has directed for stringent action against the hospitals, which are not taking any steps for treatment of bio-medical waste in the state. UP Environment Minister Nakul Dubey directed the state officials in a review meeting of Pollution Control Board to initiate action against the hospitals that lack proper facilities for treatment of bio-medical waste.
''If any industrial unit is spreading pollution in the area, legal action would be taken against it,'' he added. Mr Dubey directed for the regular checking of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) jointly with Jal Nigam.
