Filtration process is employed for removing suspended solids, colour, odour, iron, organic matters, etc. The system is classified by the use of filtering media. The rapid sand filters use mixed grade filtration media by which water is clarified from undissolved impurities. In activated carbon filter, water is processed for removing free chlorine, odours, colours, etc. And in Iron filtration water is freed from iron.
