Chempure offers effective sludge thickeners for thickening the bio sludge form the secondary water treatments. The consistency of the sludge is increased to the maximum thereby reducing the load on the downstream dewater plants such as centrifuge/filter press.

Thickeners is accomplished in a simple circular sedimentation tank. Dilute sludge is fed to the center-fed well. The feed sludge water treatments is allowed to settle and compact, and the thickeners sludge is withdrawn from the bottom of the tank. Conventional sludge collecting mechanisms with deep trusses or vertical pickets are used to stir the sludge gently, thereby opening up the channels for water to escape and promoting densification. The supernatant flow that results is returned to the primary settling tank. The thickened sludge that collects on the bottom of the tank is pumped to the digestors or dewatering equipments.
