Founded in 1819 by Mr. Alois Miesbach in Vienna (Austria) and traded since 1869 on the Vienna Stock Exchange, Wienerberger can look back on a great tradition.
Our products have been used in the construction of most historical buildings in Vienna throughout the last 200 years. Only in the late eighties of the 20th century the company started its expansion, which transformed Wienerberger from a local Austrian brick-maker into a leading producer of clay based building materials.
Today, Wienerberger operates around 227 plants in Europe and North America. Our core business is the production of clay products for wall systems (clay hollow bricks), façades (facing bricks and special façade tiles), roofs and paving & landscaping (clay pavers).
Despite our size, Wienerberger considers itself as an integral part of society, it works and acts in accordance to social, ecological and economic principles. Bricks look back at a history of more than 5000 years and Wienerberger is proud to be part of that story for the last two centuries.
Wienerberger always stands for high-quality clay products that are still pure, natural products despite of all technical advancements, making them a perfect example of a sustainable concept.
We invest continuously in new, environmental friendly technologies and develop products that are produced with the greatest possible respect for the environment in order to serve both mankind and the world we live in.
